Basic Hemodialysis Technician

Program Objective:

This program is designed to train and prepare students in technical and clinical skills needed to work as a Hemodialysis Technician. Upon completion of the program and all course requirements & financial obligation the student will be issued a Diploma.

Program Description:

This program is designed to prepare students to work as a Hemodialysis Technician, after attending a licensed, state approved school, in Hospitals, Long term care settings, Dialysis clinical setting assisting patients with the required dialysis. The students will learn how to assess, implement basic Hemodialysis care, charting, computer and problem solving.

Job Outlook

Employment of clinical laboratory technologists and technicians is projected to grow 11 percent from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations. An increase in the aging population is expected to lead to a greater need to diagnose medical conditions, such as cancer or type 2 diabetes, through laboratory procedures. Prenatal testing for various types of genetic conditions also is increasingly common. Clinical laboratory technologists and technicians will be in demand to use and maintain the equipment needed for diagnosis and treatment
