Program Objective:
This program is intended to prepare students for employment as a Psychiatric Technician or a Mental Health Technician. Upon successful completion of the program the student will receive a diploma. The program focuses on a wide base general education and transferrable skills and aligns with the requirements of the Florida State curriculum framework.
Program Description:
The program includes but not limited to nursing assistant skills, physical assessment, depression, and schizophrenia, personality disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, Anxiety disorders, Bipolar, group therapy and charting. The program focuses on a wide base general education and transferrable skills and aligns with the requirements of the Florida State curriculum framework.

I honestly don't know where to start when it comes to Wheatland. This place is for those who need & want a second chance. I've tried multiple times to get a degree, and I never was really able to get the hang of it. Everyone around me discouraged me because I just had given birth to my first child. But when I went to Wheatland, they provided me ways to not only handle being a full-time mother, but also a full-time student. They set up a daycare program for me; they found a non-profit to help me with transportation to and from school. I mean anything I needed, they were there. Wheatland, to me, is more than just a school- it's my home. I can say that I am a proud graduate of this school.
